My Everyday makeup (&storage)

Recently I've had a lot of requests for a make-up collection post, storage and every day make-up routines so I thought I'd crack on with doing those for you! I've previously posted about my make-up storage in this post where you can see a basic overview of what kind of storage I use! This post is going to be a look at my set up for my day to day make-up and items I reach for on a daily basis!

Set up & storage:

This is where I do my makeup in the mornings - it's not an ideal place as the lightings not brilliant but my room is a bit of a bugger when it comes to getting natural light as my bed is directly in front of my window! Anyway, on my desk I keep these clear acrylic drawers which have two drawers and an organiser on top (there are similar ones on ebay for about £10) Next to that I have my make-up brushes and I just keep these in this brush holder which came with a set of brushes. I also have a little pocket bac from bath and body works and a candle from Ikea. My mirror is from boots and does light up however I don't have it plugged in! I also have a little vase and some fake flowers which were really cheap, again from Ikea and I think they look lovely. Finally I have my lipsticks in a clear lipstick holder which holds 24.

Inside the make-up drawers - my everyday products:

rimmel stay matte, mac studio fix, benefit erase paste, mua, bourjois concealer
In the bottom drawer I keep my face products, I have my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and a back up as I have majorly hit pan. I have my MUA undress your skin face primer which I use on days when I need my make-up to last all day and then I have 3 concealers; a mini benefit erase paste, mac studio fix concealer in nw15 and my favourite drugstore concealer from Bourjois

In the top draw I keep my two most favourite blushers at the moment which are the bourjois cream blush in 02 healthy glow and my budget friendly £2 'peach melba' blush from natural collection. In this drawer I also keep my spot treatment from clean and clear which I love and then some eye products. If I use a primer on my eyelids I always opt for this avon primer and if I'm not using primer I tend to stick with a cream based product and the one I'm enjoying at the moment is Mac's paintpot in rubenesque. Finally I keep my favourite quad from essence which has 4 perfectly neutral shades.

The top compartment, more everyday products:

muji storage acrylic mac msf
On top of the drawers I have an acrylic storage system which has spaces for everything. On the left I keep those face products that won't fit inside the drawers. At the moment I am alternating between my MUA undress your skin foundation in porcelain and my Revlon nearly naked foundation in vanilla. I also have my favourite ever product which is Mac's MSF in soft and gentle and my Sleek face form contour kit which contains a highlight, contour and blush. On the right I have my mac lipsticks which I reach for regularly - these are hue, shy girl, creme cup and speed dial. At the back I have the two mascara's I'm using at the moment which are avon infinitize (excellent for spreading lashes and giving a cat-eye flick to them) and my Loreal telescopic which I love for lengthening. Next to those I keep a bunch of pencil products, which include my eyebrow pencils, lip pencils and a few eyeliners.

I hope you enjoyed taking a closer look around my 'vanity' area and seeing the products I reach for on a daily basis. I'll also be doing a bigger make-up collection type post soon so keep an eye out for that. If you're anything like me, you'll love taking a nose at others makeup!

  2. Great set up :D

We're house hunting atm so I've been buying new storage for my makeup. I have a set of scrylic drawers and an acrylic brush holder but I love your lipstick holder on the right there so I may have to get one of those.

  3. Snap on the mirror! I have a love/hate relationship with it. Mine is plugged in but I only really use the light as a night light for reading. Haha

  4. I really need a desk set up like yours for doing my makeup, I currently sit on the floor in front of a full length mirror! Not ideal :S the acrylic storage units are such a fab idea too :) x

    1. Ah - whatever works for you! It's nice to have somewhere to sit but this isn't the best space due to lighting issues! Thankyou! xo

  5. Oh everything is so cute! I wish I could have mine on display like that. I have to keep mine in my drawers as my 'dressing table' is actually just my desk.

  10. It looks so pretty and neat....:) As I sit here and stay at the disaster upon my vanity....I am well disgusted with myself!! I think you have inspired me to clean it up and maybe one of my #blogyoursocksoffseptember posts will be my storage. Just remember, I have publicly admitted to having a problem with buying makeup! Please don't judge..;)..lol...
