Applying false eyelashes for the first time: Eldora Lashes 'H151'

Considering the fact that I write a 'beauty' themed blog, it may come as a surprise to you that I am a complete newbie when it comes to the world of false lashes. In fact, I've never ever worn them in my life! When I was asked if I would like to try some lashes from Eldora, curiosity more than anything made me say yes. I always admire people who can apply false lashes and make them look just as natural as their own lashes, so I was keen to have a dabble in subtle false lashes!

The pair I received was the H151 lashes which are real hair lashes and short, natural lashes with an invisible band. They retail at £4.50 a pair and there are so many pairs to choose from whether you are looking for natural lashes, full lashes or really dramatic costume like lashes!

The lashes come in a small box and you are provided with an eyelash glue too - which is great, as I am a falsies newbie I have no glue hanging around! I found application to be pretty straightforward  considering I'd never applied lashes before. The glue provided with the lashes applies white (almost blue-ish) to the lashes so that made it easier to see where I had actually put the glue. After watching a few too many make-up based youtube videos I already knew that it would probably be easier to use tweezers to apply the lashes rather than trying to place them on by hand, so that's exactly what I did. I found that the lashes were the right shape for my eye and they sat pretty well on the lashline. It did take a little bit of maneuvering to get them as close as possible but in general I think they worked out quite well! I did go over them with a bit of black shadow just to cover up any tiny gaps between the lash and the lashline just in case I'd gone a bit wrong but overall I think they looked great.

Two things surprised me about the lashes and application (both positive of course):
1 - I didn't glue my eyelids shut
2 - The lashes weren't heavy and I couldn't really feel I was wearing them!

So all in all, a positive 'first time' experience at wearing false lashes! I loved how they looked on and I felt really glam, these will definitely be used for a night out or perhaps a special occasion when being a bit more glam is necessary! Thanks to Eldora and I am no longer a false lash newbie!

What do you think?
