There's just something about summer that really makes me want to try brighter lip products. Lately I've been obsessed with lip crayons; they are so easy to use, great for throwing in a handbag and require minimal effort. There are so many brands branching out into lip crayons right now, these are just a few of the ones I've tried, tested and loved!
First up is the bargain of the bunch; this £1 lip crayon (no shade name) from Primark's newly launched beauty range 'P.S beauty' (see my primark beauty haul here). This is a sheer wash of colour with a rosy pink/faint red tint that looks glossy and pretty on the lips. It's not drying, has around 2-3 hours wear time and is a great find for £1! Next up is another affordable addition from Rimmel, which is their lasting finish colour rush in the shade '100 Give me a cuddle' retailing at £5.99 - kudos for the cute shade name. This is a soft pastel pink which is almost bright but not too out there, which I love. It's great for adding a pop of colour and is a really moisturising, non sticky, wearable, everyday shade. Side note - these have a vanilla/minty scent which is gorgeous and literally smells like Tic Tac flavoured cupcakes.
Onto the slightly higher end of the highstreet lip crayons are Revlon's infamous just bitten kissable balm stains, mine is the shade Rendezvous. These retail at 7.99 and come in a great range of shades. Rendezvous is a true orange that doesn't look 'wacky' on the lips. As much as I love orange, it's a hard colour to pull off and I normally gravitate more towards a peach, but this is a perfect summer bright shade that's wearable too. Unlike the other balms, this has more of a staining effect and is prone to becoming a little dry after long wear so reapplying is always good. Finally is another un-named shade, this time from Ted Baker in a glorious deep pink shade. This was part of a gift set, but I've tracked it down for anyone interested (link). Again, a lovely moisturising formula that gives a great wash of colour - although not a stain.
Which lip crayons do you love? Any recommendations?
