The Discovery Club: The Perfume Subscription Box

discovery club fragrance shop review

When it comes to subscription boxes, I've tried quite a few whether it's beauty, food or accessories. One thing I hadn't tried was a perfume or fragrance themed subscription box - so of course, I had to try it! The Discovery Club is a quarterly subscription box from The Fragrance Shop, so you can try new fragrances and scents every few months throughout the year, or a one off.

The Discovery Club box* contains perfume samples, and whilst perfume samples have annoyed me in the past in beauty subscription boxes - I think if the box is advertised as a perfume sample box and it's sole purpose is for you to try new scents then that is absolutely fine. my box contained 5 individual perfume samples (each box contains 5 samples) with a mix of men's and women's perfume to try. You also recieve vouchers in each box, this box contained £30 worth of vouchers that expire on the 30th November - giving you plenty of time to use them on Christmas presents! Plus, the mini sample sizes are ideal for throwing in a makeup bag or handbag, I really hate carrying a bulky bottle of perfume around with me in my bag but sometimes it's nice to have a spritz.

I do like the concept of this box and whilst I wouldn't want a monthly subscription of perfume samples, I'd be more than happy to subscribe to a box every 4 months for £5. My favourites from this box were the Jimmy Choo sample (mens) and the Jean Paul Gaultier intense which has shot to the top of my 'perfumes to own' list - yes, I have one of those lists.

Fabbnails LED gel polish starter kits

One thing I really love about nail polish is that it instantly makes you feel 'put together' and there are so many colours, finishes and designs to choose from. However - we don't always have that spare time to dedicate to an at home mani or to repaint them every 3 or so days once the inevitable chips occur. There are various alternatives but the majority involve booking yourself into a salon and forking over a hefty bit of cash for someone else to create fabulous nails. Fabbnails offer an at home starter kit, designed to give you that long-lasting, salon finish in the comfort of your own home that you can use anytime you want to. No more waiting around for appointments and you can finally make use of your last minute decision to have a night out and a fresh mani!

The more cost-effective alternative comes in 'at home' kits that help you to recreate the salon finish without the salon price tag. LED gel polish starter kits retail for just shy of £70, which is a fraction of the price of visiting the salon every 2 weeks. These at home kits provide you with everything you need to achieve perfectly painted nails that last for approximately 14 days. Plus, the LED lamps have removable base plates that allow you to apply a pedicure as well, saving another trip to the salon.

Fabbnails gel polish is a quadruple threat product - giving you the primer, base, colour and gloss in one bottle. This all in one polish lets you repair chips in seconds, which is one thing that average 3 step systems don't allow. The starter kits also include an easy to use pen applicator that makes applying your polish even easier than the traditional nail varnish brush and bottle combo. My favourite shade is tutti frutti which is a vibrant, bright and playful pink shade that would instantly add some colour to your wardrobe. The alternative shade is Passion, which is a gorgeous, classic red shade that is perfect for this time of year. If those shades don't quite float your boat, there are so many colours to choose from that you can simply add to your kit including pretty pastels, jet black and gorgeous purple shades. If you change your mind during the 2 week chip free phase, then you can easily remove your colour using a removal kit specifically designed for Fabbnails gel polish. It's a win-win! You'll also be able to find application tips and removal tutorial videos on Fabbnails website making these a perfect choice for beginners too.

All kits can be found on fabbnails.com

Regener8 Night Cream Review

regener8 night cream review

A good night time skincare product is probably one of my favourite parts of skincare, and probably the only 'rule' I stick to when it comes to skincare. I always apply some form of face cream before bed and my preference is always a thick, creamy night cream that really nourishes the skin. Lately I have been trying out the Regener8 Night Cream* which is designed to moisturise and rejuvenate your skin overnight in order to put back the natural moisture to our skin resulting in soft and smooth skin. The main ingredient in the Regener8 night cream is Hydractin which optimises the water balance of the Epidermis - in other words, it keeps your skin moisturised and hydrated!

Besides the rather luxurious looking jar it is presented in, which is always a nice feature - the cream itself feels really luxurious and expensive - which is great considering you can pick this up for around £13 from Chemist Direct! It also has a subtle scent, nothing too offensive and no strong chemical or artificial scents that can irritate the skin. It sinks right into the skin leaving your skin feeling immediately soothed and doesn't cause any tightness or redness - so an excellent choice for sensitive skin too. The natural ingredients such as sunflower oil, almond and beeswax all work to nourish and moisturise your skin overnight and it's a brilliant thick, moisturiser that gets to work right away. In terms of it actually doing the job it's supposed to? I'd say it does! I've noticed that my skin does feel less dry and although I have oily combo skin, I often get dry patches on my forehead or cheeks and this has decreased.

5 ways to motivate yourself NOW

lifestyle,

It's almost scary to think that there are a little over 2 months left in 2014 and before we know it we will be celebrating the New Year. Of course, this means the obligatory making of New Year’s resolutions so that we are armed with motivation and determination for January. Let's be honest; once January disappears so does our motivation - so why wait? Why do we have to wait until December 31st to make a resolution? Surely we can do that at any time of the year - even today!

So, before 2014 is behind us, let's get motivated. Why not try and achieve some things from your 'to do' list, or change something, introduce something, enjoy something? We don't have to wait for the New Year in fact there are plenty of things we can achieve between now and then if we just take a moment to get motivated.

Declutter - if you want to make your room/house/life clutter free then start now. That way, by the time January rolls around you'll be on your way. Even making small changes can build up to a big change so it's never too soon to start decluttering.

Habits - we all have bad habits, so whether we want to cut out fast food, stop biting our nails or change from smoking to vaping or spending less money on clothes, you can kick the habit now instead of later. If it's something you really want to change, there's no need to wait until January.

Organisation - start introducing more organisation now, lists are your friend and getting organised before the festive season is a great way to make it less stressful.

Time - if like many you struggle with managing your time and fitting everything into your day then work out where your time is being wasted. Whether it's spending too much time on social media or not spending enough time planning events - sit down and track your time. You'll be surprised how much more time you can gain.

Fun - it's far too easy to get bogged down with life, and if you're not having fun it's about time to introduce it. If your usual New Year’s resolution usually involves wanting to do more, see more, experience more then get out and do it now. Arrange something fun before January!

Wet n Wild balm stains

wet n wild balm stains
wet n wild balm stain swatches stiff pink lady and vamp
Unfortunately, we still can't get our hands on Wet n Wild easily in the UK - but the Irish beauty bloggers can so I have a supplier (haha, thanks Lauren). In all seriousness, when will we be able to get our hands on this brand? Speaking of getting your hands on some Wet N Wild, make sure you check out my giveaway where you can win a cult beauty fave from Wet n Wild (see here)

The Balm Stains by Wet n Wild are just that; a moisturising, soft balm that stains the lips with a gorgeous wash of colour. They have a slightly glossy appearance but they are shimmer-free shades which I love. In terms of staying power, these babies last for hours and really do stain your lips resulting in a longer wear time than your average lipstick or lip balm. I love the deep purple shade 'Lady and the Vamp' which is perfect for this time of year. Unlike other stain formula lip products, these are not drying at all and they really leave your lips feeling moisturised and comfortable even hours after applying. If you can get your hands on these - I'd definitely recommend them.

Wet n Wild balm stains retail for $2.99 (usa) and €3.99 (Ireland)

Salon Sunday: Lush Solid shampoo and conditioner

lush solid shampoo and conditioner review seanik jungle

Who knew solid shampoo and conditioner was a 'thing'? Last year I tried a solid shampoo from Lush for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by it, so I decided to try out the conditioner too. Seanik solid shampoo and The Jungle conditioner are great options if you are looking for a cost friendly alternative to bottled shampoo and conditioner and they are ideal for travelling too.

Seanik shampoo bar (£5.75) is a repurchase I have made as I really like it. It is quite clarifying and really helps at removing product build up and leaving hair fresh and clean. It lathers up really well in the hair, which you don't really expect from a solid bar of shampoo. I find it easiest to rub a little in my hands first and massage into wet hair or use the bar directly on wet hair - both lather well. The relatively small bar of shampoo lasts a good 3-6 months or even longer depending on how often you wash your hair - so it definitely saves money in the long run.

Jungle conditioner (£3.50) is a little bit different. This doesn't lather at all (on my hair) and it unfortunately doesn't meed my hair needs as I have quite dry hair and much prefer deep, nourishing conditioners. Jungle is a perfectly fine product, but this is something that I feel would work far better on oily/greasy/fine hair types as opposed to thick, dry hair. Again, this product will last far longer than a bottled conditioner.

Have you tried the solid shampoo 'thing'?

breast cancer awareness 2014 products

October 2014 is Breast Cancer Awareness month and what better way to support such a brilliant cause by purchasing one of your favourite products and donating at the same time. Tiger Haul

tiger haul

Okay, so you guys know I love Tiger - so of course, on my recent trip to the opening of the Cwmbran store (see here) I couldn't resist picking up some goodies. If you're the type of person who loves buying little nik-naks, home bits and random stationary then Tiger can prove to be a dangerous place - a good one, but a dangerous one. Luckily, almost everything is under £5 which is amazing! So here's what I got:

Owl Tea light holder (£3), I thought this would make the perfect gift for Christmas and he is so cute. A Peach & Mandarin hand soap (£2) which smells delicious and also came in a variety of scents and some Halloween foam stickers (£1) for my niece and nephew enjoy along with the tiniest notebook I could find (50p) just because I couldn't resist. I also picked up two 2 post cards (£1 for 2) just because they were funky and 3 decorative tapes (£2) which come in handy for journalling and being creative in a lazy way. For myself I also spotted this Copper/Rose gold tea light holder (£2) which gives a lovely speckled light effect and a Composition notebook (£2) because I am literally obsessed with notebooks right now.

As you can see, everything was 100% necessary and I have no shopping problems.

Makeup collection downsizing: Unii Palette review

unii palette review
unii palette review

Makeup palettes are a bit of a weakness .. alongside blushes, brushes, lipsticks or anything makeup related. Just me? The only thing is that palettes often take up a lot of room, or I sometimes only find myself using particular shades from each palette. With smaller and more affordable palettes like those from Sleek or MUA I don't mind discarding the shadows I don't use or damaging the packaging - but I definitely wouldn't risk depotting my urban decay palettes - plus they are pretty compact anyway.

The Unii palette means that you can create your own custom palette full of your favourite shades. I decided to depot some of my favourite colours from my MUA and Sleek palettes and also the odd single shadows - which often get forgotten about. The unii palette is very sturdy and really substantial in comaprison to the packaging of standard palettes. It's worth noting that some shadow pans are not magnetic - but the unii palette also comes with a sheet of magnetic strip which you simply cut to fit. Of course, I couldn't resist testing the magnets by holding the palette upside down and they didn't budge - always a good thing.

The Unii Palette retails for £15 and you can find it at Beauty Crowd. I love the huge mirror and this makes it so much more effective in terms of using shadows you like and saving space!

How to get Mermaid hair in 10 seconds

hot hair extensions review
hot hair ponytail extension strawberry blonde mermaid

I've never really had the experience of having long flowing hair; my hair grows quickly but never downwards - always outwards making it far easier for me to keep it at a medium length. When it comes to my hair I'm all about fuss free maintenance - easy styles like a quick bun, natural waves, an easy ponytail or the most adventurous of all - straightened hair! So, when the lovely people at Hot Hair offered me the chance to try out having a swishing long ponytail I was definitely up for the 'long hair experience'

The mermaid ponytail is among a range of pony tail styles that you simply click in to instantly change your hairstyle. As a complete extension/hairpiece newbie I was worried it would be difficult to put into my hair but it literally couldn't be easier. The mermaid ponytail comes with a clip that slots in just above your normal pony tail and you simply wrap a small section of the hair, which is already separated for you around the ponytail to conceal the join. Then all you need to do is use a bobby pin clip or 2 (also supplied) to secure the wrap around. It literally takes 10 seconds to put into your hair and it's such a fun and easy way to change up your style.

The shade I tried was 'strawberry blonde' and I have naturally dark blonde hair - this was a pretty good match for me; the only thing that would have made it even better would be to have less of the brightest blonde streaks - but this really wasn't an issue. I love the ponytail is already styled, adding tonnes of volume and thick luscious curls and waves to your ponytail. You could also plait the ponytail or even do a fish-braid which is something that those of us with medium/short hair miss out on! It's definitely a cool concept and awesome if you want to play around with hair styles but have minimal fuss and effort involved - all the hard work is already done for you.

The mermaid ponytail retails for £25, and as long as you take good care of it and store it safely there should be no problems in this lasting you for ages - there's a full care information section on the site too, which I found super handy as an extension newbie! It is synthetic - so you can't use any heat on it, but as the hair is already styled you really don't need to do anything. So what do you think? Would this be something you would use?

Fragrance Friday: Orla Kiely Bergamot Collection

orla kiely bergamot collection review
Orla Kiely is a new brand that I've never tried before but always liked the look of due to the bold and colourful designs with iconic retro prints - don't they look great? The Bergamot collection consists of 100% natural essential oils and features hints of cedarwood, patchouli, grapefruit and you guessed it .. bergamot! Then of course there are a few spicy features like cardamom and aniseed to give it the zesty, refreshing and herbal scent that so many people love. I have to say, I'm normally one for fruity scents or sweet coconuts when it comes to bath and body products but I have really enjoyed these products.

The shower gel is light and refreshing and the perfect way to refresh and pamper in the shower or bath. It lathers well and smells divine. The body lotion is very moisturising but what I like most about it is that it doesn't leave your skin with that oily residue - it sinks right in. Plus, all products in this collections are free from sulphates, parabens, petrochemicals and artificial colours - making them perfect for those of us with sensitive skin.

Both the shower gel and body lotion retail for £12 each, available at www.orlakiely.com and various department stores such as John Lewis.

Home Design: Wallpaper

Is it just me or can you spend hours upon hours browsing through pinterest boards around the home? I love all things home and decor inspired, so I often find myself looking at different layouts, designs and themes to create a perfect room (in my mind of course).

When it comes to decorating, there are many options from paint to wallpaper and even feature walls or frame walls. I quite like the idea of wallpaper, it means you can pick and choose which areas to decorate, it's easy to do and easy to change if you enjoy switching your room around and playing with colours regularly. If wallpaper is your thing then sites such as Go Wallpaper, who are online specialists in decorating and offer high quality, luxurious wallpaper and wall coverings are the perfect place to go to help create the perfect space in your home. Buy looking at wallpaper and home decor online, you'll be able to have a much wider selection of colours, prints and style and you'll also be able to see what they look like in a room - which is something you don't get to see in store.

I think my perfect room would be fairly plain and simple in terms of decor and colours, but I would like a room with a feature wall that really stands out to really make it a clean, fresh and contemporary environment. I love the idea of bold patterns, pops of colour and different texture effects for a feature wall, these can really finish off an entire room and make it look homely. I always imagine my dream living room or kitchen and how I would decorate them and I love the idea of having bold and modern prints mixed with simple decor and cool shades of paint.

It's also interesting to note that wallpaper is a practical option for some people redecorating as you can actually choose wallpapers that will improve your home in terms of thermal efficiency, sound proofing and even damp problems - so that's an added bonus. Stylish and practical!

Avon Haul

avon haul offer

I do love browsing through the latest Avon book and seeing what new beauty products I can try out and this time I bagged a pretty good freebie too! There was a special offer of a free gift (gwp) when you spent £10 so I managed to get all of these beauty bits for just £10 which is amazing so here's what I got this time around:

Ultra Tinted Lip Balm 'berry' £7.50 (on sale for £4 at time of purchase)
True Colour Eyeshadow Quad: Autumn 'berry love' £9.00  (on sale for £6 at time of purchase)
Ultra Colour Lipstick 'pout' £7.50  (gwp)
Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss 'Iced Pink' £6.50 (gwp)
Gel Finish Nail Polish 'Sheer Love' £7.00 (gwp)
4 in 1 Nail Buffer (gwp)

That's a whopping £37.50 worth of products for £10, which just goes to show that it's worth having a flick through that Avon Brochure (or checking them out online) as they regularly have offers like this, especially now in the run up to Christmas! I absolutely love the Avon Ultra Colour lipsticks - they are very Chanel-esque in terms of the packaging and the formula is lovely and long lasting with some great dupes for infamous Mac shades in there too. The eyeshadow quad is a gorgeous soft berry palette which is perfect for autumn/winter and on first impressions the shades are stunningly pigmented - even the matte shades! Both the nail polish and lipgloss are lovely soft pinks that are great for all year through and would also make lovely gifts if you wanted to split the bundle up - plus the 4 in 1 nail buffer is handy too! I have to say - I am very impressed with my Avon goodies so far.

If you'd like a review on any of these items individually - please do let me know in the comments or tweet me.

Salon Sunday : Olsson Haircare

olsson haircare review

This week's Salon Sunday feature is perfect for the sensitive skinttypes among us who like to use gentle, fresh products that actually work. This is my first time trying products from Olsson Haircare and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I have enjoyed them - considering I'm a sucker for yummy scents and swish 'ingredients' plastered all over the front of my usual shampoo and conditioner bottles. Olsson Haircare is a ''a professional hair care line without perfume, parabens and colourants. Certified by Asthma-Allergy Foundation'' and their shampoo and conditioner are aimed at minimising the risk of reactions and irritations caused through using products on your scalp. Whilst I don't have a super sensitive scalp, I do enjoy using a cleansing and light shampoo that doesn't weigh my hair down and recently I've been figuring out the whole paraben free thing. I enjoy the minimalist packaging, that's simple and clean looking and both shampoo and conditioner are stocked on sites like FeelUnique and Beauty Bay.

For me, I enjoyed using both products - I'd say my favourite of the two was the shampoo, which is unusual for me. The reason I liked the shampoo so much was that it is gentle and fresh allowing your hair to feel really clean and cleansed of all product build up and oils - but it doesn't strip the hair of moisture which lots of light shampoos tend to do. The conditioner is also a great find, gentle and nourishing without being too heavy so a great conditioner to use if you have quite oily hair naturally. I have quite dry hair so I tend to go for a heavier conditioner for the ends of my hair - but this Olsson conditioner is great for regular use, allowing me to just use a hair mask or a deep conditioner once a week instead. I'd recommend giving these a look if you suffer with sensitive scalp or you're looking for lightweight, hair products that are healthy for your hair.

Fragrance Friday : Current Wishlist

fragrance direct perfume review wishlist
When it comes to perfume, I definitely a fragrance fiend who enjoys collecting lots of different perfumes so I constantly have a choice of which one I want to wear. I thought I'd throw together a quick wishlist of all of the fragrances that I've found myself lusting after lately - thanks to those little samplers in magazines and parcels. All of these fragrances are currently available from Fragrance Direct (and other places) - that's just always my go to place for finding good perfume prices and everything on one site (no affiliation, I promise).

I've wanted to try Stella by Stella McCartney for a while now, I love the bottle and it's just one of those classic, everyday scents that is beautiful. Dolce and Gabbana 'The One' is my all time favouriter perfume, it's a little on the pricey side so I haven't repurchased it but this is seriously a 'me' kind of scent whilst Thierry Mugler 'Womanity' is something different to my typical perfumes.

YSL is definitely a popular perfume choice and their most recent addition of 'black opium' smells amazing and is on my wishlist for that reason alone, whilst Manifesto by YSL has been on my radar for quite some time - but again, it can be pricey. Finally is a Crystal Noir by Versace which is definitely a scent that doesn't get talked about much but it is intense, beautiful and just so luxurious.

What fragrances are on your wishlist?

Tiger Wales new store opening - Cwmbran

I was lucky enough to be invited along for a special preview evening at the brand new Tiger Store in Cwmbran (South Wales) which has opened it's doors for the first time to the public today. I'm a huge fan of Tiger, and everytime I visit Cardiff I make sure I pop into the Tiger Store - so I was hugely excited to have a new store opening even closer to home. Of course, I had a good mooch around the entire shop admiring all of the bright colours, home accessories, stationary, food & more! Here are some of my favourite parts of the store:

Of course, I couldn't leave without making a purchase (or 10) so keep your eyes peeled for another Tiger Haul coming soon (previous Tiger haul here). The staff were all very happy, friendly and most of all - helpful. I had a lovely time enjoying the preview evening with my friend who came along with me and we both left the store saying how impressed we were and discussed how it's one of those stores that sells everything you didn't know you needed - all of life's little nik naks that make cute gifts too!

Thankyou Tiger for opening another store in Wales and Congratulations to the team!

Mac Soft & Gentle Dupe: Elf baked blush

mac msf soft and gentle drugstore dupe elf

mac msf soft and gentle dupe elf

Mac's mineralised skin finish (MSF) in 'Soft and Gentle' is quite possibly my favourite ever product from MAC and one I use all the time. It's a little on the expensive side at £22 but it is a gorgeous product. Soft and Gentle is the perfect mix of golds, peaches and pinks that produces a lovely overall highlight.

There are quite a few 'dupe' products out there for soft and gentle, but the closest I've found comes from Elf for a mere £3.95! Although the elf baked blush in the shade 'pinktastic' contains 4g less of product, it still beats the price of MAC by a mile. Pinktastic is a little more on the pink side of the scale as the name suggests, but it's certainly a close match for the infamous soft and gentle shade by Mac. So, if you're wanting to try a cult beauty product but don't want to part with £22 then why not try a purse-friendly version from Elf? I'd also recommend the shade Peachy cheeky from elf's baked blush line which is another gorgeous shimmering highlight/blush combo!

Salon Sunday: Neal & Wolf FIX hold and shine spray

Fix neal and wolf hold and shine spray review

You've probably heard me talk about how much I love the smell of Neal & Wolf products before, they are seriously the best smelling haircare brand around. Who also do candles, that smell exactly like the hair products - Hallelujah! (see candles here). Of course, hair care isn't just about smelling good it also needs to do the job.

Fix is a popular Neal & Wolf product that is a Hold & Shine spray to help add shine to your hair but hold it in place all day long - it's also sulphate and paraben free, which I know is important to some of you. Fix helps your hair to stay put but doesn't weigh it down or make it crispy, we've all used those kinds of holding sprays that leave our hair looking rather snap-able haven't we?! I love using this on wavy hair as it helps to define the waves and make them last longer rather than falling out throughout the day. A light spritz of this all through the hair is an easy way to tame fly aways and baby hairs, add a little shine and a healthy look to your hair and make sure your style stays put throughout the day.

Fix from Neal & Wolf retails at £12.50* for a whopping 250ml bottle and considering how long this will last you, even with daily styling and use I'd say that's a pretty good buy. Plus - I seriously cannot get enough of this scent, it's like perfume and yumminess for your hair!

5 must have autumn lipsticks

autumn lipsticks

mua wild berry

mac shy girl

loreal unending amber

avon wine with everything

rimmel kate moss 107 wine

We are now officially into October so we can safely say it's Autumn, although here in Wales we have been having rather sunny and warm weather for the past few weeks. I want autumn evenings, cold winds and hot chocolates now please Mr. Weatherman! When it comes to Autumn I love changing up my lipsticks to darker, vampy shades and nudes so I thought I'd share 5 of my favourite Autumn lip colours that I always reach for.

First up is a bargain from MUA's matte lipstick line which includes a range of £1 lipsticks. Wild Berry is a vampy purple shade in the bullet that almost looks a little scary but actually, it applies as a softer vampy purple as you can see - so it's definitely wearable. You can add another layer to deepen the colour but I love wearing a soft purple.  At the opposite end of the price scale is one of my all time favourite nudes, 'Shy girl' from MAC (I'm sure their prices increase every year). Shy Girl is the perfect brown shade nude that doesn't leave fair skinned gals like myself looking washed out or concealer-lip style.

Another budget friendly shade for Autumn comes from Loreal (via cosmetic fairy) for 99p! Unending amber is a much deeper nude/brown shade that is a nice change from the typical berry shades this Autumn. The formula is smooth and hydrating and a definite steal for less than £1! And finally, two wine shades from Avon and Rimmel. Both 'Wine with everything' and '107' are deep, pink toned wine colours that are classic autumn shades and look great with a neutral makeup look to darken things up a little.

NYC BB Cream Blush Sticks

nyc cream bb blush swatches soho pink neverending pink
nyc cream bb blush swatches

nyc cream bb blush swatches

When I saw these NYC BB cream blush sticks over on one of my fave blogs (Amelia Liana) I instantly wanted to try them out. Blush in a stick form is something you never see in Drugstore brands, and these beautifully blushable cream sticks were only £2.99 a piece. Having not tried that many things from the NYC line, I wasn't sure what to expect.

Well, let me tell you - they are fabulous! They have a creamy, buttery formula that gives immense colour pay off with one swipe - especially the brighter colour of the two (never sleeping pink) which is a gorgeous bright pink with a hint of coral. Soho pink is more of a subtle shade with a little bit of sheen and shimmer to it, which is a beautiful colour for all year through but especially this time of year when all of the berries and nudes come into play.

They are surprisingly easy to apply, just pop them straight onto your cheeks (just a little) and blend them out with your finger or using a small stippling brush. I personally find using my hands the easiest way but it works well both ways. Unlike other cream formulas, they don't cling to the foundation underneath and drag it around - they just blend so well. They are a cream to powder product, so don't leave your face feeling sticky but they do give you a lovely, sheen to your cheeks that you just can't get with powder blush products. The only downside to these blushes that I can see is that they only come in 2 shades -- I want more!

You can find NYC BB cream blush sticks in Superdrug for £2.99 each (link, regularly on offer too).

P.s It's the 1st of October. When did that happen?!
